Uninvited Visitor

This guy came visiting on garbage day to DS#2 house in West Vancouver B.C.  It isn't unusual to have bears in their neighbourhood and because of this everyone has bear proof locking garbage cans.  Someone down the street didn't lock theirs and so the bear rummaged in there and found a peanut butter jar and brought it to sons patio and proceeded to  lick it clean.  He then came over to the kitchen window and looked in at son at the sink and then ambled off down the creek at the bottom of the yard!

  1. Gosh - glad we don't have these in our gardens although I have seen plenty when I have visited Canada and the US - nice seen through glass!

    1. We do have bears, lots of them, here but they don't usually come as far into town as we live. Lots of communities on the outskirts get them though.

  2. Now there's one problem we don't have here. Would love to see one but not looking in the window.

    1. Yes, that is a little unnerving when one is slobbering on your window!!

  3. Oh my goodness, I'd have a heart attack if a bear showed up in my back yard. Hope the neighbour learned his/her lesson.

    1. One night he heard a lot of banging and crashing around in his backyard. He didn't go out until the next morning to see what happened. His garbage bin was all chewed and huge claw marks all over it but the bear didn't manage to get into it.

  4. No bears here yet, but coyotes, bunnies, deer, moose, various birds like pheasant and partridge as well as the occasional cougar seem to find our valley here on the prairies.

I don't think I would like to look out the window and see a bear though.

    God bless.

  5. What a surprise…rather glad we don’t have bears over here…though I do take the grandsons on a Gruffalo hunt down in the woods! x
