Nothing New

So here it is, November 1st, -11C and cold.  It snowed on Friday so we will probably have snow on the front lawn (faces north) until May!!  It never gets the sun, and we look at the houses across the street and not a trace of any snow.

Halloween yesterday.   We saw quite a few kids on the street, don't know where they were all going but we only had 10 come up to the house.  No little ones, all about 10-13, all very polite and in costume.  There were no events at the community centres or the shopping malls, maybe they were going over to the school grounds, no idea.

One of the houses in the cul-de-sac across from us had a party Saturday night.  We counted 11 cars there.  So much for the rule of only two fully vaccinated households can come together with a maximum of 10 people!!

  1. All very quiet round here - we don't celebrate Hallowe.en so much in the UK

    1. We live in an older established neighbourhood with few kids. Some of the newer neighbourhoods with young families were getting between 600-700 kids!

  2. Helloooo - it sounds very odd you talking about Covid rules when it’s a blooming free for all here. The weather was absolutely filthy last night so we only had one group of well dressed up kids knocking the door trick or treating. Lovely to see you are ok!!

    1. We have the rules but I'm not sure how many are actually following them!

  3. We had 51 kids at the door, the most we've had in years. As you mentioned they were all costumed and polite. It was lovely to see them having fun.

NOOOOOO...I'm not ready for snow. You're just one province over so it's probably heading my way. I face north so that snow doesn't disappear easily.

    Take care, stay well.

    1. We didn't get anywhere near the amount of snow that was predicted. We were out today and could see that the mountains are all covered in snow!

  4. Very quiet here as it has been the last few Halloween nights. We had snow off and on almost all day but none stuck around.

    God bless.

    1. It's been quiet on Halloween in our neighbourhood for years but this is the first time I've seen kids just walking down the street and not coming to the houses! Very strange!
