Animals and flowers

Just a few pictures of some of the animals on display in a sporting goods store in one of our malls.

More flowers in the garden.

My blueberries were coming along nicely. There were a few ripe ones ready to pick but I thought I would leave them until the next day.  Went out the next morning and all the ripe ones were gone.  I think a rabbit came to visit.  The next morning all the small green ones were gone.  I don't think he'll be back because he didn't leave any for another day!!

    1. They pop up all over the place, I have to pull some out before they go to seed.

  2. I planted 3 blueberry bushes and it is a treat to go out and pick a few; my older ones are four feet tall so no rabbits can reach them. Those are magnificent antlers in your photos.

    1. I'm looking forward to when the blueberry bushes are bigger but that could be a few years yet, One of the older ones-3rd year- the leaves are curling on it. Can't see any bugs or eggs, hope it survives.

  3. Those dead animals remind of a museum in the UK, in a place called Tring museum, a collection started by one of the Rothschilds. A huge collection, quite impressive really until you start thinking that all of those animals had to die before becoming part of a display, just because some rich bugger could. I have nothing against hunting per se, I just don't like the "Hey look what I killed!" thing. That cover photo, is that in your garden? Just stunning. Joe has a week off at the end of September, his weekends should now be free, he plans to start reclaiming the veggie garden, he might need flame guns and napalm!! xx

    1. The dead animals are in a outdoor/hunting store. They have quite a few dead animals on display. The deer in the header was across the street under a crab apple tree. I was standing about 6 feet away from him!! If you can see he is missing his antler on one side so he had probably been in some kind of skirmish!
